Scientific Description:
Perennial. Stems glabrous, terete with fine ridges, divaricately and irregularly branched, 30−100 cm; rootstock thick, woody; with a fibrous collar. Basal leaves ovate, up to 20 × 10 cm (or more), 3−4-pinnate, glabrous or finely scabrid; ultimate segments ovate, divided into linear lobes, or linear, 25 × 1.5 mm; petiole shorter than rachis; upper leaves subsessile. Inflorescence of many branched lateral shoots of varying length. Rays 5−10, up to 20 mm, puberulent. Bracts 0(−1). Bracteoles 8−12, puberulent, with a membranous margin. Umbellules 14−20-flowered. Petals white. Pedicels shorter than fruit. Fruit ovoid to elliptic, 3−4 × 1.5−2 mm, puberulent.
Flowering time: July−August.
Habitat: Rocky slopes, 400−2200 m.

Public Description:
Seseli tortuosum, known as “horozgözü” in Turkish, is distributed in South Europe, Northwest Africa, Libya, Crimea, Türkiye, Caucasus and Azerbaijan. It is a perennial glabrous herb with white flowers and grows up to 100 cm in length. It blooms between July and August and is found in rocky slopes.
