Scientific Description:
Perennials (occasionally monocarpic) or biennials; rootstock with or without a fibrous collar. Leaves 1−4-pinnate. Bracts present or absent. Bracteoles present, free or united at base. Sepals small or absent. Petals white, rarely yellow or ± violet, not radiant. Fruit oblong to ovoid, glabrous or pubescent, scarcely compressed. Primary ridges conspicuous; secondary absent. Vittae 1−3. Stylopodium conical in fruit. Styles persistent.

Public Description:
Seseli is a genus of perennial or biennial herbs, commonly known as “çaşırgöbeği” in Turkish, is native to Europe, Crimea, Central and Southern Russia, the Caucasus, Siberia, North and West Africa and Eastern Mediterranean. There are approximately 77 species in the world and 12 species (13 taxa) in Türkiye. They have white or yellow flowers and sometimes a woody conical taproot at base.
