Rumex obtusifoliusL. subsp. subalpinus (Schur) Celak - Bitter dock
Scientific Description:
Perennial up to 120 cm. Basal leaves ovate-oblong, about 2 × longer than broad, obtuse, cordate at the base. Glomeruli of the inflorescence rather remote. Pedicels thin, flexuous and drooping, about 2 × longer than the fruiting perianth segments, articulated below the middle, gradually swollen above. Inner perianth segments narrowly triangular in fruit, toothed (sometimes weakly so), 4−4.5 × c. 2.5 mm, only one tuberculate.
Flowering time: May−September.
Habitat: Banks, shady and damp places, s.l.−1200 m.

Public Description:
Rumex obtusifolius subsp. subalpinus, commonly known as “bitter dock”, is native to Türkiye and Europe. The bitter dock is a perennial herbaceous plant with clustered small flowers, and grows up about 120 cm length. It blooms between May and September and grows on slopes, roadsides, ditches and shorelines.
