Euphorbia stricta L. - Upright Spurge
Scientific Description:
Similar to Euphorbia platyphyllos, but more slender; all leaves smaller; fruit more deeply 3-lobed and densely cylindrical-tuberculate; seeds ellipsoid, 1.2−1.5 mm, reddish-brown.
Flowering Time: April−August.
Habitat: In fir (Abies Mill.), spruce (Picea A. Dietr.), pine (Pinus L.), beech (Fagus L.) and oak (Quercus L.) forests, amongst rocks on limestone and sandstone, grassy slopes, streamsides, fallow fields and roadsides, s.l.−2100 m.

Public Description:
Euphorbia stricta, known as “upright spurge”, is native to the whole of Europe with the exception of northern Europe, Turkey, the Caucasus, Iran and Central Asia. It is a annual herbaceous plant with yellowish-green flowers and fruit. It blooms between April and August, is found in fir (Abies Mill.), spruce (Picea A. Dietr.), pine (Pinus L.), beech (Fagus L.) and oak (Quercus L.) forests, amongst rocks on limestone and sandstone, grassy slopes, streamsides, fallow fields and roadsides.
