TORILIS L. - HEDGE PARSLEY
Scientific Description:
Annuals (or rarely biennials?). Stems erect, often branched, retrorsely setose or scabrous. Leaves 1−2-pinnate, the ultimate segments entire or toothed. Umbels terminal or leaf-opposed. Petals white to pinkish, with inflexed apices, usually small, sometimes radiant. Fruit linear-cylindric to ovoid, spiny with spines arranged along the secondary ridges, though this is not clear in some species when examined with a lens or with the naked eye; fruit monomorphic or mericarps sometimes heteromorphic.

Public Description:
Torilis is a genus of annual or rarely biennial plants, commonly known as “hedge parsley”, and is native to Eurasia and North Africa. There are approximately 9 species in the world and 9 species (13 taxa) in Türkiye. They have white to pinkish flowers.
