Scientific Description:

Annuals, hemiparasitic, glandular-viscid. Leaves opposite, or alternate above, simple, dentate or serrate. Flowers in terminal spike-like racemes; bracts leaf-like, longer than calyces. Calyx tubular or tubular-campanulate, 4-lobed, not bilabiate, ± membranous between veins. Corolla bilabiate, yellow or reddish; upper lip bifid; lower lip 3-lobed, longer than upper. Stamens 4; anthers mucronate, glabrous or pilose. Capsule oblong; seeds numerous, smooth or reticulate.

Public Description:

Parentucellia, is a genus of annual hemiparasitic herbs, commonly known as “glandweed”, and is native to Türkiye and Europe. There are 2 species in the world and 2 species (4 taxa) in Türkiye. They have yellow or reddish flowers.
