Public Description:
Oenanthe, is a genus of perennial herbs, commonly known as “water-dropwort”, and is native to Asia, as well as in Italy and India. There are 28 species in the world and 9 species (9 taxa) in Türkiye. The name “Oenanthe” is derived from the Greek words “oinos” meaning “wine” and “anthos” meaning “flower”, and is dedicated to the wine-like scent of the flowers. A few species are quite poisonous and grow in moist places, in marshes or in water.
