Scientific Description:
Erect branched glabrous perennial with solid angular ridged stems up to 100 cm. Roots with ovoid tubers distant from base of stem. Basal leaves ovate triangular, 3−4-pinnate, up to 22 × 10 cm; ultimate segments ovate, lobed or toothed, very rarely linear, up to 11 × 8 mm. Cauline leaves with linear ultimate segments. Umbels terminal or leaf ± opposed. Rays 6−15, ± equal, up to 2.5 cm, thickened in fruit. Bracts (0−)1−5, up to 11 × 0.5 mm. Bracteoles 12−20, up to 6 × 0.3 mm. Umbellules 30−60-flowered. Fruit cylindrical, 3−4 mm; styles 3 mm; stylopodium flat-conical.
Flowering time: April−July.
Habitat: Marshy ground, edge of lakes, s.l.−1300 m.

Public Description:
Oenanthe pimpinelloides, commonly known as “corky-fruited water-dropwort”, is native to Europe, the Middle East, and parts of western Asia and North Africa. It is a perennial herb with umbel-like white or pink flowers and grows up to 1 m high. It grows in acidic soils, is able to tolerate both dry and damp environments. It blooms between April and July, and is found in marshy ground and edge of lakes.
