Public Description:

Myosotis (from the Greek: "mouse's ear") is a genus of flowering plants commonly known as “forget-me-nots”. It is native to in the northern hemisphere. There are approximately 61 species in the word and 24 species (26 taxa) in Turkey. Most of the species open flowers with a diameter of less than about 1 cm and usually blue, sometimes white or pink. They can be annual or perennial. Legend has it that in medieval times, a knight and his lady were walking along the side of a river. He picked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted "forget me not". For this reason, it is regarded as a symbol of faithfulness and enduring love.
