Scientific Description:
Annuals or perennials (rarely shrubs), always glabrous; collar not fibrous. Leaves always undivided, entire or (sub lente) finely serrulate. Bracts present, or absent in some broad-leaved annuals. Bracteoles present. Petals yellow, white or purplish, with a well-developed inflexed apical lobe adnate to the median dorsal wing of petal limb (point of inflexion referred to as 'petal bend'). Fruits terete, very variable, ridges 5, linear to winged or rarely inconspicuous; fruit surface smooth or ornamented; dorsal vittae 1−5 per vallecula, commissural vittae 2−10, rarely inconspicuous in ripe fruit.

Public Description:
Buplerum is a genus of annuals or perennials plants, known as “thorough-wax”, and is native to Mediterranean basin, Southwest Asia, South Russia, Caucasus, Iran and Iraq. There are approximately 208 species in the world and 47 species (49 taxa) in Türkiye. They have yellow, white or purplish flowers.
