Scientific Description:
Differs from Viola reichenbachiana Jord. ex Bor. in its sepals with appendages c. 2 mm, corolla white to bluish white with a pale spur, petals broad and overlapping and the head of the style with a tuft of hairs.
Flowering time: March−June.
Habitat: Often in shade or near streams, 50−1800 m.

Public Description:
Viola sieheana, known as “çayır menekşesi” in Turkish, is naturally distibuted in Romania, Crimea, Caucasus, Western Syria, Bulgaria and Greece. It is a perennial herb with white to bluish white flowers, and grows up to 25 cm in length. It blooms between March and June and is found in often in shade or near streams.
