Scientific Description:
Shrub, 2−6 m. Twigs and naked buds greyish, stellate-hairy. Leaves ovate to obovate, 5−10 cm, serrulate, rugose above, greyish, especially beneath, stellately pubescent, more densely so beneath. Inflorescence 6−10 cm diam. Flowers all alike, fertile, c. 6 mm, cream. Drupe c. 8 mm, oval, at first red, becoming black.
Flowering time: June−July.
Habitat: Forest and scrub, rocky slopes, 1000−2000 m.

Public Description:
Viburnum lantana, common name “wayfarer” or “wayfaring tree”, is native to central, southern and western Europe, northwest Africa, and southwestern Asia. It is a deciduous shrub or small tree growing to 2–6 m tall. Its leaves are covered with gray hairs and the stem is flexible.It usually grows well in alkaline (basic) soil and is grown as an ornamental plant because of its beautiful flowers and fruits. Large quantities of the fruit can cause vomiting and diarrhoea.
