Potentilla micrantha Ramond ex DC. - Pink Barren Strawberry
Scientific Description:
Rhizomatous, villous perennial with a short flowering stem, 2−5(−10) cm. Basal leaves longer than stem (5−15 cm), trifoliolate; leaflets broadly ovate or obovate, 10−50 mm, crenate-serrate, sparsely villous, green above, sericeous beneath. Flowers terminal, solitary or in a 2-or 3-flowered cyme. Epicalyx segments and sepals equal, lanceolate-ovate, 3−6 mm, acute. Sepals with a reddish blotch on inner side towards the base. Petals white or rarely pinkish, obovate, 3−5 mm, emarginate, slightly shorter than sepals. Achenes glabrous; style subterminal, slightly longer than achene.
Flowering time: March−July.
Habitat: In forests, by streams, s.l.−1800 m.

Potentilla micrantha, commonly known as “pink barren strawberry”, is native to Türkiye and Europe. It is a perennial herb with white or pinkish flowers, and grows up to 10 cm in length. It blooms between March and July and is found in forests and by streams.
