Pilosella piloselloides (Vill.) Sojâk - Daz Tırnakotu (in Turkish)
Scientific Description:
Stolons absent, or when present slender. Rosette leaves 15−120 × 3−13 mm, linear, narrowly elliptic or oblanceolate, obtuse or acute, ± glaucous, glabrous or with long, subrigid simple eglandular hairs. Flowering stems 15−50 cm, glabrous or with occasional glandular or simple eglandular hairs, with (0−)2−6(−10) leaves like those of rosette and often ± amplexicaul. Inflorescence lax; capitula 3−50; peduncles glabrous or with few stellate and few to numerous glandular or simple eglandular hairs. Phyllaries 5−7 × 0.5−0.75 mm, linear to linear-lanceolate, obtuse or acute, with 0 to numerous glandular hairs, 0 to numerous simple eglandular hairs and sometimes a few stellate hairs. Ligules yellow, sometimes with a purple stripe on outer face.

Flowering time: May−August.
Habitat: Clearings in pine (Pinus L.), oak (Quercus L.) and beech (Fagus L.) forest and scrub, pastures, steppe and scree, 100-2300 m.

Public Description:
Pilosella piloselloides, known as “daz tırnakotu” in Turkish, is native to Europe, the Balkans, Türkiye, Caucasus, Northern Iran, Syria and Lebanon. It is a perennial herbaceous plant with yellow flowers, and grows up to 50 cm. It blooms between May and August, and found in the clearings in pine (Pinus L.), oak (Quercus L.) and beech (Fagus L.) forest and scrub, pastures, steppe and scree.
