Scientific Description:
Stem to 60 cm. Calyx halves bidentate, rarely entire, teeth acuminate or subulate towards apex, divergent, 3−many-veined, glandular-pilose. Corolla campanulate, wide, ventricose above insertion of stamens (near base), curved forward, waxy yellow and red or purplish outside on upper lip or almost throughout, inside mostly purple and in dry state dark brown, outside glandular-pilose, inside glabrous and shining; whole dorsal line curved. Stamens inserted near corolla base, anthers shortly acuminate. Stigma yellow, usually surrounded with purple.
Flowering Time: July.
Habitat: Usually on Leguminosae.

Public Description:
Orobanche gracilis, common name “slender broomrape”, is a parasitic flowering plant, and native to Türkiye, the Central and Southern Europe and Northwest Africa. These plants, which are leafless, without chlorophyll and usually annual, have flowers in waxy yellow, red, brown or purple colors. The slender broomrape is a harmful plant in agricultural land, especially infesting the leguminous crops. They can usually be seen in July.
