Himantoglossum caprinum(Bieb.) Sprengel - Kayışlı Keşkeş (in Turkish)
Scientific Description:
Plant to 100 cm. Stem normally tinged purple-violet above. Leaves lanceolate, lower broader. Spike ± lax, to 45 cm long and c. 1.5 cm broad. Bracts narrowly lanceolate. Flowers usually bright purple. Sepals ovate-oblong, 14−17 mm, forming a greenish-purple hood. Labellum large, base with fascicles of short, dark purple hairs and papillae; middle lobe to 10(−12) cm × l.5−2.5 mm, deeply divided at apex. Spur conical, 4−5 mm.
Flowering time: (June−)July(−August).
Habitat: Open Quercus L. woodland and scrub, grassy edges of forests, on limestone, 200−1400 m.

Public Description:
Himantoglossum caprinum is a species of orchid, known as “kayışlı keşkeş” (in Turkish), is native to southeastern Europe, Türkiye and the Middle East. It is a tuberous perennial herb. Its bright purple-colored fringed flowers are a fairly pompous plant on a thin branch. However, The flowers have a foul smell, likened by some to the smell of goats.
