Scientific Description:
Very similar to Asperula orientalis L. but flowers equalling bracts or shorter; Corolla 5−7 mm, bluish-violet to whitish, tube 4−6 mm, widened in upper 1/3, lobes 0.5−2 mm; anthers 0.7−1 mm, oblong-eliptic; mericarps 2−3 mm diam.
Flowering time: March−July.
Habitat: Open ground, fields and waste places, nr s.l.−1900 m.

Public Description:
Asperula arvensis, commonly known as “blue woodruff”, is native to most of Europe, Algeria, Morocco, and southwest Asia from Türkiye to Kyrgyzstan. It is a perennial herb with bluish-violet to white flowers, and grows up to 50 cm in length. It blooms between March and July and is found in open ground, fields and waste places.
