Scientific Description:

Differs from Anemone blanda Schott & Kotschy in having glabrescent involucral leaves above, fewer, often narrowly elliptic tepals and, larger, less pilose leaves.

 

Flowering time: March−April.

Habitat: Deciduous woodland, c. 100 m.

Public Description:

Anemone nemorosa, common name “wood anemone”, is native to Türkiye and Europe. It is a herbaceous perennial plant that producing of star-shaped, single, white flowers. Blooming in early-mid spring. The wood anemone is grown as an ornamental plant for use in gardens and parks. The plant contains poisonous chemicals that are toxic to animals including humans. All parts of the plant contain “protoanemonin”, which can cause severe skin and gastrointestinal irritation.
