Scientific Description:
Vegetative characters similar to Orchis palustris Jacq. Centre of labellum whitish without spots; lateral lobes always strongly reflexed (lip folded); middle lobe absent or minute, thus having a distinct recess between the lateral lobes. Spur c. half as long as ovary, often flattened and slightly notched at apex.
Flowering time: April–May.
Habitat: Wet meadows and marshes, s.l.–1400 m.

Public Description:
Anacamptis laxiflora, commonly known as “loose-flowered orchid”, “lax-flowered orchid” or “green-winged meadow orchid”, is native to Europe and Asia. It is a tuberous perennial herbaceous plant with red-purple to violet flowers. It is found in wet meadows with alcaline soil. It blooms from May to June.
