Scientific Description:
Annual, up to 25 cm. Leaves oblanceolate or obovate-spathulate. Racemes strict, up to 15 cm, branches, if present, divergent or ascending. Sepals deciduous. Petals gradually attenuate, emarginate or entire, 0.4−0.9 mm wide. Fruits with monomorphic indumentum of large or small stellate hairs with equal or unequal rays; valves ± unequally inflated. Styles 0.7−1.3 mm, rigid, hairy. Fruit hairs with equal rays. Seeds winged, wing (0.2−)0.3−0.4 mm wide.
Flowering time: April−June.
Habitat: Open places, scrub, 100−2600 m.

Public Description:
Alyssum simplex, common name “kır kuduzotu” in Turkish, is distributed in Greece, Aegean Islands, N. Africa, S.W. Asia. It is an annual herb has very small yellow flowers that do not exceed 25 cm in length and bloom in early spring in degraded areas.
