Scientific Description:
Perennial herbs. Leaves alternate, frequently in rosettes, imparipinnate, with sheathing bases to which the stipules are adnate. Flowers in terminal head-like spikes, unisexual or hermaphrodite. Sepals 4; petals 0; stamens 4−many. Carpels 3−1. Styles terminal, filiform, the stigmas penicillate. Fruit a single achene (rarely a group of achenes), enclosed in the hardened, cup-like hypanthium.

Public Description:
Sanguisorba, is a genus of perennial herbs, commonly known as “burnet”, and is native to the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. There are approximately 26 species in the world and 4 species (7 taxa) in Türkiye. They have small white or red flowers. Some species are used in traditional Asian medicine to treat gastrointestinal disorders and stop the bleeding.
