Public Description:
Cynoglossum is a genus of biennial or perennial plants commonly known “hound's-tongue”. These plants are native to Asia, Africa, and Europe. There are approximately 83 species in the world and 8 species (11 taxa) in Türkiye. It has been introduced into North America, and it is considered to be a troublesome weed because its burs stick to the wool of sheep and to other animals and causes the light sensitivity to be ingested by grazing animals.
