Scientific Description:
Glabrous annuals with angled stems, slender taproots and a foetid smell. Leaves 1−2-pinnate; petiole winged, not sheathing. Sepals obsolete. Petals white. Fruit didymous, glabrous, hard; each mericarp ± globose, ± rugose, without conspicuous ridges, pale brown or greenish; commissural face perforated. Vittae absent.

Public Description:
Bifora is a genus of annual herbs, commonly known as “sarsaparilla”, and is native to southern and central Europe, Türkiye, Caucasus, Iran, Iraq and Syria. There are 3 species in the world and 2 species (2 taxa) in Türkiye. They are bad smelling plants with white flowers.
