Public Description:
Arum is a genus of flowering plants commonly known as “arum lilies”. It is native to Europe, northern Africa, and western and central Asia, with the highest species diversity in the Mediterranean region. There are approximately 30 species in the world and 14 species (17 taxa) in Türkiye. The genus name is Latinized form of the Greek name for these plants, “aron”. Frequently called "arum lilies", they are not closely related to the true lilies Lilium. All parts of the plants including the berries are poisonous.
