Scientific Description:
Annual, erect, (4−)8−20(−25) cm, not or ± branched (but rarely at base); blackening when dry. Stems sparsely pubescent with very short curved eglandular and scattered longer (0.3−0.6 mm) glandular hairs, rarely glabrous. Lower leaves petiolate, upper subsessile, all glabrous. Lamina broadly ovate to subtriangular or rhombic, 5−14 × 3−10 mm, base truncate to cuneate, margin subentire to shallowly serrate-dentate with 1−3(−4) teeth per side. Raceme 5−20(−35)-flowered, glandular-pubescent. Bracts oblanceolate, entire or lower slightly serrulate. Fruiting pedicels 5−10(−15) mm, erecto-patent, 1.5−2 × bracts, ± hooked upwards below fruit, pubescent with very short eglandular curved hairs and (3−)4(−5)-celled (all cells usually longer than broad) (0.2−)0.3−0.4(−0.5) mm glandular hairs. Corolla blue or pale blue, 4−6 mm diam. Style 1.2−1.6(−1.8) mm. Capsule (2.7−)3−3.5(−3.8) × (4−)4.5−6 mm, c. 1.5 × calyx, hygrochastic, sinus acute, 0.45−0.6 × capsule, base broadly truncate to subcordate, lobes suborbicular, glandular-ciliate, otherwise glabrous; style subequalling sinus. Seeds c. 10−30, elliptic, (1.1−)l.3−l.6(−l.8) × 0.7−1 mm, ± flat, smooth, sticky when wet.
Flowering time: April−July.
Habitat: Pinus L. and Abies L. forests, wet places, often on clay, 700−2500 m.

Public Description:
Veronica bozakmanii, common name “bozakman mavişi” in Turkish, is a plant that naturally grows in Greece, Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan. It is an annual herbaceous plant that can grow up to 25 cm tall, with blue or pale blue flowers. It is mostly found in pine and fir forests, wet places, and often on clay. It can be seen in flower between April and July.
