Public Description:
Taraxacum microcephaloides, is an endemic species to Türkiye and known as “ebem çıtlığı” in Turkish. It is a perennial small plant with yellow flowers. It blooms between June and August and is found in mountainous areas. The Latin genus name “Taraxacum” derives from the Arabic to Persian “talkh chakok” meaning “bitter herb”. The species (epithet) name is also derived from the combination of the words "micro" and "-cephaloides" in Latin and depicts "small headed" flowers.
