Scientific Description:
Plants 10–40(–50) cm. Leaves lanceolate, basal broader, often curved outwards. Spike elongate or condensed, 3–20-flowered. Bracts lanceolate, ± exceeding the spreading flowers. Sepal hood 20–26 mm, greyish-purple outside. Epichile broadly to narrowly lanceolate, oblong-lanceolate or narrowly cordate, ± bent backwards, 15–30 mm, glabrous to densely hairy near base, dark purple, brownish or ochre-red. Hypochile broad, ± projecting from hood. Beak of column 3–6 mm.
Flowering time: March–May.
Habitat: Dry or wet grassy places, phrygana, macchie, roadsides, ruins, mainly on calcareous or schistose soil, 50–1000 m.

Public Description:
Serapias bergonii, commonly known as “Bergon’s serapias”, spreads from Italy to western and southern Türkiye. It is a tuberous perennial herb up to 50 cm height with reddish flower. Bergon’s serapias can be found in rocky limestone pastures. It blooms between March and May.
