Ranunculus constantinopolitanus(DC.) d'Urv. - Kağıthane Çiçeği (in Turkish)
Scientific Description:
Coarse perennial, 20−75 cm. Stems usually densely hirsute like the petioles, branched above and bearing tripartite leaves; 2-many-flowered. Radical leaves cordate at base, tripartite, 3−10 cm across, segments varying from broadly cuneate and overlapping to narrowly cuneate, with very short, crenate-dentate or incised-dentate lobes, adpressed-pilose. Peduncles terete. Sepals reflexed. Petals 8-15 cm. Torus glabrous. Achenes semicircular, strongly compressed, 3−4 mm, keeled; beak circinate, 1−1.5 mm.
Flowering time: April−June.
Habitat: Moist places, especially in marshy meadows, s.l.−2000 m.

Public Description:
Ranunculus constantinopolitanus known as “kağıthane çiçeği” in Turkish widely spreads ranging from North and South America, to New Zealand and the Mediterranean. It is a herbaceous perennial plant with yellow flowers and in a pubescent structure. It can be seen especially in marshy meadows in flower between April and June. It is commonly used in Lebanese folk-medicine and has been reported to possess anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiviral, antibacterial and antiparasitic and antifungal activities.
