Potentilla rectaL. - Sulphur Cinquefoil
Scientific Description:
Ascending or erect perennial; flowering stems (2−)20−60(−90) cm, pubescent with long and short eglandular hairs and usually with few short glandular hairs. Leaves digitate; leaflets 5 or 7, oblong-obovate to linear-lanceolate or sometimes cuneate-obovate, 10−50(−70) × 5−25 mm, serrate, incised-serrate to pinnatisect to the base, sometimes doubly so, on both sides ± villous, green or grey. Flowers in cymes. Epicalyx segments linear-lanceolate, as long as or slightly shorter than sepals which are triangular-ovate, (3.5−)5−8 mm. Petals yellow, obcordate, 6−10(−13) mm, longer than sepals. Achenes rugose, winged; style conical at the base, shorter than achene.
Flowering time: May–July.
Habitat: Meadows, pastures, wet and shady places, s.l. -2300 m.

Public Description:
Potentilla recta, commonly known as “ sulphur cinquelfoil” or “ rough-fruit cinquefoil”, is native to Eurasia and North America. It is a perennial herb with yellow flowers, and grows up to 90 cm in length. It blooms between May and July and is found in meadows, pastures, wet and shady places.
