Scientific Description:
Perennial, stems ascending, pubescent. Lower leaves ovate to obovate, upper leaves elliptic to linear. Racemes usually all terminal, lax (3−)6−20(−25)-flowered. Bracts shorter than the pedicels. Upper sepal gibbous. Inner sepals oblong-obovate, somewhat stipitate, with veins anastomosing near the apex, bluish. Corolla equalling or a little shorter than the inner sepals. Anthers shortly stipitate. Capsule sessile, obcordate, unequally winged.
Flowering Time: April−July.
Habitat: Slopes, hillsides, etc., s.l.−2000 m.

Wing of capsule 0.5−1 mm broad; racemes (7−)10−30-flowered.

Public Description:
Polygala pruinosa subsp. pruinosa, common name “milkwort”, is a perennial fowering plant, and native to Türkiye and Armenia. A plant with blue flowers and short and can be seen in the hillsides and slopes up to 2000 m from above sea level in July. The antiviral properties of this plant was exhibited in a study.
