Public Description:
Helleborus orientalis, commonly known as “green hellebore” or “lenten rose”, is native to Greece and Türkiye. It is a perennial herbaceous plant with greenish-white colored fancy flowers and tubers under the soil. The roots of this plant are used in the treatment of bronchitis and similar breast diseases of cattles in North Anatolia. In the past, they were used as a worm-reducing agent and in menstrual bleeding, but this type of use of the plant was abandoned due to its toxic and irritating properties.
