Public Description:

Epilobium hirsutum, known as “great willowherb”, is naturally distributed in Europe, including Britain, Türkiye, Northeast and South Africa and the temperate regions of Asia. It is a herbaceous perennial plant with large flowers that have purple-pink colour and can reach 2 meters in length. The word "hirsutum" in the species name means "hairy" in Latin. This name is given because the plant's leaves and stems are all covered with hairs. It blooms between July and September and is found swamps and riversides.
