Scientific Description:
Annuals, hemiparasitic. Leaves opposite, simply serrate-crenate, sessile. Flowers in terminal, bracteate racemes. Calyx bilabiate, 4-lobed, strongly compressed laterally, clearly accrescent. Corolla bilabiate, yellow; upper lip 2-toothed below apex enclosing stamens; lower lip 3-lobed. Stamens 4; thecae not mucronate, villous. Capsule strongly compressed within persistent calyx; seeds many, flat, winged.

Public Description:
Rhinanthus, is a genus of annual hemiparasitic herbaceous plants, commonly known as “yellow-rattle” or “rattle”, and is native to Europe, northern Asia, and North America. There are approximately 34 species in the world and 1 species (2 taxa) in Türkiye. They have yellow flowers.
