Scientific Description:

Perennial herbs and small shrubs; evergreen. Leaves alternate, simple, exstipulate, often forming basal rosettes. Flowers hypogynous, 5-merous, zygomorphic, in dense involucrate spherical (rarely elongate) capitula. Corolla blue, 2-lipped, upper lip divided into 2 ± narrow segments or teeth, lower longer, ± deeply 3-lobed. Stamens 4, epipetalous, exserted. Ovary superior, unilocular with 1 pendent ovule; style exserted, stigma 2-lobed. Fruit persisting within calyx.

Public Description:

Globularia is a genus of perennial herbs and small shrubs known as “globe daisies”. It is native to central and southern Europe, northwest Africa and southwest Asia. There are approximately 31 species in the world and 10 species (11 taxa) in Türkiye. They are dense low evergreen mat-forming. Their flowers are purple, violet, pink or white colors.
