FUMARIAL. - FUMITORY
Scientific Description:
More or less glabrous, glaucous annual herbs. Leaves irregularly 2−4 pinnatisect. Flowers zygomorphic, in leaf-opposed, bracteolate racemes. Sepals 2 or obsolete. Upper petal spurred. Ovules 1, or 1 on each placenta. Fruit a 1-seeded nut, rugose, rugulose or smooth when dry. Most species are variable, and specimens grown in the shade often have small cleistogamous flowers and a typical leaf segments.

Public Description:
Fumaria is a genus of annual herbs, known as “fumitory”, and is native to Europe, Africa and Asia, most diverse in the Mediterranean region, and introduced to North and South America and Australia. There are approximately 57 species in the world and 14 species (17 taxa) in Türkiye. Some species may have anti-inflammatory and analgesic potential.
