Scientific Description:
Treesorshrubs. Leavessimple, entire, usuallyopposite, exstipulate. Flowers in corymbosecymesorumbels, hermaphrodite, actinomorphic, epigynous. Sepalssmallorabsent. Petalsusually 4. Stamensusually 4, alternatingwiththepetals. Ovaryinferior, 2-locular; ovules 1 perloculus, pendulousfromapex, anatropous; style 1. Fruit a drupewith a single 2-locular pyrene; seedswithcopiousendosperm.
