Public Description:

Prospero is a genus of bulbous perennial plants, known as “yılansoğanı” in Turkish, and is distributed in Europe, around the Mediterranean, and through the Middle East to the Caucasus. There are approximately 14 species in the world and 2 species (2 taxa) in Türkiye. The flowers and leaves of these plants appear in the autumn and disappear in the spring. They have pink, violet or white flowers which are arranged in the form of a raceme.
