GLECHOMA L. - GILL-OVER-THE-GROUND
Scientific Description:
Perennial herbs, stoloniferous. Leaves and bracts similar, petiolate, reniform to suborbicular. Verticillasters secund, 2−5-flowered. Calyx tubular, bilabiate, 15-veined; tube straight, tapering to base; upper lip suberect, undivided, lower 3-lobed. Stamens 4, lower pair shorter than upper, thecae at right angles and opening by separate slits. Style deeply 2-lobed, lobes recurved. Nutlets smooth, ovoid.

Public Description:
Glechoma, commonly known as “gill-over-the-ground”, is native to northern Asia and Europe. There are 8 species in the world and 1 species (1 taxon) in Türkiye. They are perennial herbs with stolons. They have generally blue-violet flowers which have two to many arising from the leaf axils.
